There’s something exotic about Arabic road-signs, particularly when they point to that country…

My research revealed that lucky people generate good fortune via four basic principles. They are skilled at creating and noticing chance opportunities, make lucky decisions by listening to their intuition, create self-fulfilling prophesies via positive expectations, and adopt a resilient attitude that transforms bad luck into good. Be lucky - it’s an easy skill to learn, Telegraph.

French photographer Laurent Nivalle does a nice job on that grungy, desaturated kind-of thing.

The shot above is taken from his Sicile collection.

Leaving for the last time

For the last three years, Paris has been my home. Any time I left Gare du Nord, it was always followed-up a few days later by a return trip, back to the French capital.

Not this time. This was a one-way ticket.

Ladurée à Londres

Ladurée @ Harrods

I didn’t realise Ladurée had made it over to this side of the Channel…

Stunning time-lapse style filming from California’s White Mountains.

The slight-movement of the foreground during the filming really adds another dimension to the film.

Missed Connections

The Missed Connections part of Craigslist intrigues me. People trying to find the random person they may have caught the eye of at 1.43am on the métro, etc. I’d love to know how many people actually make contact with the person they describe. Dividing the number of people concerned, by the number of people who remember, by the number who care, by the number who read the same website… The chances get slashed at every step.

Thanks to Jason Kottke’s blog I came across this blog of an illustrator who takes these ads & draws from them.
